Dr. Shane Ashton
DENTIST, DENTISTRY IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES.
Dr. Shane Ashton graduated from the University of Alberta faculty of Dentistry in 1998 with honours. He has been practicing dentistry at Camrose Dental Health Centre since graduation.
Dr. Ashton and his wife Shauna, a local pharmacist, both grew up in Camrose and are now raising their children in their hometown. His other interests include dentistry in developing countries, coaching hockey, and all the various activities in which his children are involved.
Dr. Mike Bernard
DENTIST
Dr. Mike Bernard earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Alberta in 2000, where he was recognized with the prestigious Community Dentistry and Dental Public Health Award. After successfully running his own private practice for 24 years, Dr. Bernard joined Camrose Dental Health Centre to be part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
With a passion for lifelong learning, Dr. Bernard has spent years studying across North America alongside some of the world’s leading dental professionals to deepen his expertise in both everyday and advanced dental care. What he values most about dentistry is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships—with his patients and his team
Outside the clinic, Dr. Bernard enjoys spending time with his wife and family, whether relaxing at home or exploring the outdoors.
Dr. Shane Ashton

Dr. Cody Smith
DENTIST
Dr. Cody Smith graduated from the University of Alberta, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He then enrolled in the U of A Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry where he was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree in 2017.
Dr. Smith has completed advanced surgical training in Dental Implants, wisdom teeth extractions, and intravenous (IV) sedation. Born in Alberta, but moving to Whitehorse, Yukon at a young age, Dr. Smith loves spending time outdoors regardless of the weather.
When he’s not practicing dentistry you can find him mountain biking in the summer or snowboarding in the winter. Dr. Smith is also an avid traveller and is always up for an adventure! Feel free to ask him about any of his travels.
Dr. Rhonda Markowsky
ORTHODONTICS, COSMETIC DENTISTRY, AND THE TREATMENT OF SLEEP APNEA (Retired)
Dr. Rhonda Markowsky graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Dentistry in 1990 with great distinction. She and her husband Todd immediately moved to Camrose and began their careers. Dr. Markowsky is married to Todd, who is a Registered Psychologist and teacher at Camrose Composite High School. Their children, John and Brynn have been very active in the dance community and are presently attending university. She provides all aspects of family dentistry and enjoys establishing long lasting relationships with her patients. Away from the office, Dr. Markowsky enjoys photography, music and performing arts.
